Destination Marketing, a leading Marketing and Advertising agency in the Pacific Northwest with over 20 years experience working with clients across the United States and Canada, has an immediate opening for a talented Art Director with print design and new media experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly versatile designer to further develop their creative leadership skills and expand the interactive capabilities of the agency.
Reports to: Director of Studio Operations.
OVERVIEW
The agency is expanding their online, interactive services and this role is integral to this effort. The Art Director will work with the existing design staff and provide creative leadership and direction for current and new projects, and become a key part of the creative studio; comprised of designers, writers, radio and TV production staff.
- Oversee the day-to-day functions of the design team and provide creative direction / leadership as needed
- Provide hands-on design for new media, websites and print; lead and collaborate with the design staff, resolve and refine project workflow issues, and effectively communicate regularly with internal account staff and clients
- Team up with the New Business Development Team to pitch new work to clients, and present work in progress
- Focus on expanding the agencies interactive design capabilities; execute large-scale web site projects and digital advertising campaigns
- Translate wire-frames and other interactive requirements into visually compelling and attractive web site designs to maximize user experience
- Develop emails, flash banners, and other creative materials to support online direct marketing campaigns
- Designed off line ads and/or campaigns, direct mail and various custom projects for advertising clients
REQUIREMENTS
- Portfolio must demonstrate solid design sensibilities representative of both print design and new media
- 3 to 5 years experience designing websites, plus at least 3 years experience leading designers through the design process
- Worked in fast-paced environment with various corporate and retail clients
- Project management, Information Architecture experience and training a plus
- Partner with the Account Team to ensure workflow requirements are adhered to
- Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash web banners, HTML, and CSS skills required
- College degree or vocational equivalent in interactive design, communications / advertising, or related field of study
